2016.06.13 03:45 PeterMacKay4PM Why Peter MacKay is awesome. [Part 1]

MetaCanada, I am so excited to see this new theme. We need to elect Peter MacKay. Here is why.

He founded the party!!!

Aside from Harper himself, Peter MacKay played the biggest role in making our current party exist. He rose to the leadership of the PC party, ridded Canada of the prairie communist (David Orchard), booted Joe Clark (also a communist) to the curb, and went on the help form the greatest government this country has ever known. At various times between 2006 and 2015, he filled the roles of: the Justice Minister, the National Defence Minister, and the Foreign Affairs Minister!

Atlantic Canada.

To say that Peter MacKay is well-loved in Atlantic Canada is an understatement. He is a God there. People absolutely love him. When he resigned, the CPC lost his riding to the Liberals. In fact, the CPC lost all of Atlantic Canada! If he became leader, we would immediately win back some of those seats. We would get instant credibility in the east again. We would avoid the label of a party of the west by electing another leader from Alberta, and would avoid the eye-rolling process of electing yet another lawyer from Quebec as the leader of a federal Canadian party.

The military loves him.

Although he managed three of the highest profile portfolios during his time in the CPC government, he is most well known as the Minister of National Defence. Why? Because the soldiers fucking love him. In my line of work, I meet with plenty of military personnel, and they all speak incredibly highly of Peter MacKay. He met with troops regularly, spent millions on their equipment after 10 years of garbage Liberal leadership, listened to their concerns, and commanded huge respect.

He’s not a fucking cuck.

In 2005 Peter MacKay was dating Belinda Stronach, another CPC MP. In May 2015 she defected to the dirty Liberals. How did MacKay react? He kicked that cheating whore to the curb, and broke up with her on the spot. He later referred to her as a “dog” in the House of Commons.
He then went on to date Jana Juginovic and Sophie Desmarais. Oh yeah, he was also banging US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for a while too.

He has a smoking hot wife.

After all that, he decided that Nazanin Afshin-Jam - former Miss World Canada - was a keeper. Not just a pretty face, she has degrees in international relations and political science, works with the Red Cross, and is the president and co-founder of Stop Child Executions. They now have a perfect young family (one son, one daughter) ready to hit the campaign trail with them.

He doesn’t pander.

Like Harper, he is not afraid to take strong stances, even if it isn’t popular. Check out just one example here, where he confronts some protesting MMIW numbers and lays some facts on them.

He’s not the “red tory” everyone makes him out to be.

Yes he came from the PC side of the merger, but when you look at his stances and voting record, he is good. He voted against the legalizing euthanasia & assisted suicide, in favour of the Unborn victims of Crime Act (would allow criminal charges to be laid in the death or injury of an unborn child when the childs mother is the victim of violent crime), in favour of raising the age of consent for sex from 14 to 16, and against adding "gender identity" and "gender expression" to the Human Rights Act and Criminal Code.

He is 10000x better than any other option right now.

This almost goes without saying but it is worth pointing out: no other CPC potential is as good as Peter MacKay. Not even close. Raitt? Old and preachy. Clement? Low energy. Kenney? Fat white single guy from Calgary. Scheer? Young and smug. O’leary? Has potential but is a bit of a loon. Media would skewer him.
How about the current candidates? Leitch is phony, horrendously unlikeable, and forever tied to the Barbaric Practices hotline. Bernier can’t speak English. Chong is so boring that I can’t even be bothered to think up a joke to type here.
Peter MacKay is smart, well-spoken, likeable, and experienced. He has a young family that is ideal for the campaign trail. He is the Trudeau slayer. Anyone else is a waste of time.
More to come.
